Make-Up | Why?

to celebrate the 'nova' face of D'Oliveira Fashion Blog, what is better then we talk about Make-Up?? Lets have a little fun Fabulous Followers??

well girls - sorry boys - I thought about this topic while I was virtually attending (just by curiosity & with the propose of keep learning with the experts) the Fashion Friday Live - New York Fashion Week.

must say, that it was a fabulous chat, with people doing amazing questions & with a marvellous and inspiring make-up expert kindly answering - Melissa Nicholl!
Melissa Nicholl

there were interesting questions covering a wide range of topics - from the skin health/care to MAKE -UP strategies. Unfortunately - for some bellas -  the skincare topic was not covered on the Live Chat, but be not afraid, I am going to talk about 'go-to products every morning' & much more!

beautiful bellas, behind any product, you must be aware that there is some key actions that makes your skin shine:  drink at least 1.5L of water per day and an equilibrated diet will do the rest! Also, bellas, the beauty sleep is not a fairy tale, but a true care beauty. So, live your 'fairy tale' at least 8h per night!

talking about the 'go-to products every morning' wait and die for it, you will love the tips and the difference that it will do in a long run for your skin!

Uriage Mousse D'EAU Nettoyante

first tip bellas: Take care of your skin by doing a properly clean, first by washing with water and then with an adsorbent product - like Uriage Mousse D'EAU Nettoyante ideal for sensitive skin! Do that every morning and night, in the case you used make up (and we know you do!!!).

Soap & Co. Mineral Peeling Gel

then, exfoliation is what your skin needs once per week, so pick a day and have fun bella! To do so, I would recommend a fab product that was presented to me in one of the fabulous street stores of London - Soap & Co. Mineral Peeling Gel. This product will make your skin shine dazzling and smooth, for moments you will think that you are living on the 'Valley of the DOLLS'.

Physiological Shooting Toner
La Roche-Posay

after that, there is a product that many people ignore, but bellas & ragazzi a physiological shooting toner as the one of La Roche-Posay is very important to make your skin beautifully happy with its effects - toned, soothed and pores look tighter as well as prevent ingrown hairs (a great tip for men!!!). Now, your fabulous cleaned skin is ready to receive the treatment cream, I mean the aging and nutritional creams, and just after that, you apply the hydrating cream (if needed, e.g. dry skin). Another tip -  find a cream with sun protector (SP) - it is essential to protect you skin from early damages and irregular pigmentation. If you could not find a cream with SP, just buy a face sun protector cream! Even in winter we need it & we know...'The Winter is Coming...'

as it is coming - the winter - & your skin is now healthy with those tips, why do not we talk about the trends for MAKE-UP colours & forms?!

bellas, for some reason, the make-up on fashion shows of this season focused essentially on the eyes and I must say, it goes VINTAGE  in all ways - from the eye-shadows of the 1920s to the cat eye look of the 1950s - uniting the elegance of AU Naturel to the power sexiness of blue & extravagant colours.

Make Up For Ever Artistry

all you have to do is not over do it, right?!! For example, if you use an Portofino Blue eyeliner (e.g. L'Oreal Paris), or a Bleu Majorelle volume effect mask (e.g. Faux Cils), you must keep way your intense coloured lipsticks as pink and red, instead choose as a Rouge Caresse in nude ingénue tone.

i know, eyes make-up might seems scaring for all woman - at least says Susana Chaves from Vogue Portugal - also, seems that you - bellas - are running away from blue eyeliners & masks, but 'Do Not Fear Your Fear' as says our model phenomenon & so called 'Fashion's It-girl'Cara Delevingne - and in the end, it is a big trend, who will judge you?! However, you must choose what the right occasions to wear it - for example it would be fabulous for a glamorous night - & in my opinion, if you have blue eyes I would avoid a similar colour, because it will not make your blue eyes 'pop out'. This type of colour will work better in darker eye colours - green and browns - just see it below!!!

fabulous followers, the fun is ending, but I will leave you with a résumé of some tips given during the Fashion Friday Live - New York Fashion Week:

1- If you have a dark hair, blue eyes & you have a passion for dark lipsticks, do not be afraid, this is the solution:
. You do a neutral eye with a strong back winged liner, then you can be free to use & abuse of you dark lipsticks without lose your fab eyes!

2- If you have a blue eyes or eyes varying between blue, green, grey, these tips are for you:
. Use a great copper or plum toned eyeliner;
. Other option is a soft mauves and berry tones;
. Any colours that have an orange base will makes your blue eyes pop like nothing else;
. Please avoid colours that are similar to your eye colour - they will only compete with your eyes!

3- If you have eyes with different colours, e.g. green & brown, do not fear:
. It is simple as that - use a purple eye shadows and liners to really make both eye colours pop for you!!

4- Do you wear glasses & still do you want your eyes stand out?? Just keep calm & learn:
. Wear colours that compliment your eye colour is always the best for making them stand out:
         Blue eyes -> orange undertone (peach, copper, brown);
         Green eyes -> red undertone (pink, berry & plum);
         Brown eyes -> purple/blue undertone (mauve, violet, navy).
5- Small eyes?? Do you would like them to seem bigger?? Just read bella:
.You can use a flesh toned pencil in the waterline, which is softer than white;
.Follow the link to learn who to do it, there is a video: http://www.makeupforever.com/us/en-us/videos/smoky-contrast
